"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

To the New Year
Today I read this inspiring quote from Marianne Williamson (A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, Harper Collins, 1992. From Chapter 7, Section 3 (Pg. 190-191)). I not only thought it was amazing but very appropriate for the New Year and resolutions that come along during this time.

Actually, Marianne Williamson is the author of this quote. It is literally my FAVORITE quote. I have used it at least 30 times in lessons & talks. It is WONDERFUL and so true. Too often, our insecurities are the only thing holding us back from being who we are designed to be. Love it!
Thank you Melanie and you are definitely right. Where I found it, it had been misquoted, but it looks like it actually came from Marianne Williamson's A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, Harper Collins, 1992. From Chapter 7, Section 3 (Pg. 190-191). Thanks again and I'll fix the main post, but I'm just excited to have found it because it's definitely words I need to live by!
